An Island Refuge was written to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Loyal Refugees’ arrival on the Island of St. John. The men and women who came here following the American Revolution made a major contribution to the welfare of our Province.

This volume includes: Land claimants list of 1841; accounts of regiments which helped protect the Island during the American revolution; copies of the original muster rolls; and the history of one hundred and four Loyalist families, with genealogies.
